It is hard to believe that, Beauty and the Beast Disney movie was first created in 1991!  Fast forward 26 years later and here we are today, with a brand new live adaptation of the movie.  One of it’s main stars is the talented Emma Watson.  Emma is beautifully cast as Belle as she brings to life the fantasy story.  We love her style here at SUAY – simple yet chic!

Makeup is a form of self expression.  If you want to go classy, you will feel classy. If you want to look like a rockstar, you will feel like a rockstar. Don’t be self conscious about enhancing your best features and sharing it with the world.

If you are looking for a natural yet glamorous look for a special event, you could take great inspiration from Emma.  The one thing to remember about doing your own makeup for a big night is that practice makes perfect.  We recommend you do a test run before the day and take some photographs, so that you can see what it really looks like.

Remember less is more and keep to one simple rule… It’s lips or eyes guys!  Choose which feature you want to accentuate the most and keep a subtle yet polished look for the rest. From winged liner to  amazing hair you can create a simply dreamy look.

Be kind to your skin and don’t cut any corners when it comes to taking care of it.  Choosing the right skin cleansers or moisturisers, such as Murad, can hold the key to complexion perfection.  Choose good quality products that will not be harsh on your skin.

We highly recommend Cosmetics à la Carte and use this line of foundation and makeup for personal use and within the salon.  We truly believe in this product because it is precision-blended to suit each unique skin type, shade, age and taste. Anti-ageing properties, shine control, hydration, coverage and SPF protection all personalised to each individual.  It is sure to give you that star quality glow, suitable for any red carpet event.

The Beauty and the Beast theme has also inspired many fashionistas to bring fantasy into fashion.   One beautiful example is Christopher Kane’s, Beauty and the Beast capsule collection with a rose lace dress.  Definitely not for everyones budget but we can look in awe at the beauty and intercity of the design.

Matching your makeup to your wardrobe can be a very flattering when done correctly and atrocious when done wrong.  If you feel unsure about mastering this technique, you could call in to our salon and we will be happy to advise you or if you would like to avail of our makeup artistry service, we are here to help! If you would like some tutorials on this, please leave a comment below.

Another quirky Beauty and the Beasty theme style is from Danielle Nicole, who teamed up with Disney to create a co-branded handbag collection inspired by Disney Princess characters.  We just love the creativity involved in these designs.

We hope this movie will be a success and for now we are enjoying all the Beauty and the Beast theme styles from fashion to makeup.  If you are feeling inspired and would like to be the Belle of the Ball –  Contact SUAY and we will help you look more like Beauty and less like the Beast 😉
